Sponsor a Horse!
Nearly everyone who comes to Haven Acres knows what it’s like to feel broken in some way. That is why it is so special to us to have horses who have experienced a similar emotion. The majority of our horses are “broken.” When horses are rescued, donated, or bought by Haven Acres, they are given safety, purpose, and a sense of belonging. Horse sponsorship is one of the ways that people can be involved in supporting the horses and kids in our care. A full monthly horse sponsorship is $90-420 a month, depending on the horse. This covers the horse’s feed, hoof care, and basic medical costs or medications as well as offering a child the chance to build a relationship with them free of charge. Full and partial sponsorships are available.
Sponsorship includes:
- Quarterly updates on your horse
- A portrait of your horse showcasing your sponsorship
- Acknowledgement of sponsorship on our website
- Three opportunities per year to visit your horse

Cost
Each horse at Haven Acres has different health and care needs, so we have tried to estimate the cost of each one on a monthly basis. This includes their hay, hoof care, vaccinations, deworming, dental care, and if they need any grain or medications. As a sponsor you are not responsible for any unexpected medical costs. Some of the horses need special shoes to keep them from limping while others need medications for diseases like Cushing’s. Still others require grain because they don’t have good enough teeth to grind up grass and hay. As the sponsor you are helping us give quality care to these amazing horses!
The “additional needed” on this chart means that a horse is partially sponsored but needs a little more additional each month to cover their full cost.

Setting Up Recurring Donations
There’s a few different options for setting up recurring donations.
PayPal: You can set up monthly recurring donations through PayPal with a credit card, debit card, or your bank. We have multiple regular donors who choose to donate this way. A small percentage of the donation is used for a processing fee. Click here to donate through PayPal.
Check: You can write out and send a check to Haven Acres in the mail each month if you prefer. Several of our regular donors choose to do this.
Bank: Most banks allow you to set up automatic, monthly donations through their “bill pay” service. Banks will just need the address of Haven Acres. Haven Acres is not able to do that on our end yet, but hopefully in the future! This works well for some of our monthly donors.
Corporate Giving: We have multiple donors who’s employers will allow them to take pre-tax dollars and donate them to Haven Acres. Check with your employer to see if this is an option for you!
