Registration if OPEN!
Program registration for regular summer programming will be open from March 1-March 31, 2021 at 11:59 pm. Participants must be ages 9-17 by June 7 to be accepted. Any applications received after March 31 will be added to the wait list. 50 participants will be drawn from the pool of applications on April 1 and we will email you if your child was accepted or put on the wait list.
Sessions run from June 7-Sepember 3 with a week break in the middle (July 19-23). Participants come for a 90-minute session once a week and work one-on-one with a mentor and a horse. The first half an hour of the session is doing chores around the ranch and the last hour is learning horsemanship skills. Participants will have the same mentor and horse all summer, God-willing, so that they can build a trusting relationship with them. If a mentor is sick or goes on vacation a substitute mentor will work with the child that week.
All programming at Haven Acres is run completely free-of-charge thanks to many generous donors who want to see these kids, families, and horses grow and thrive!
We will be running sessions with COVID-19 precautions in place.
