We had an unforgettable night at the Haven Acres Gala last Saturday. We were so blown away by the support and generosity shown by so many amazing people!
Here’s a bit of a highlight reel:
We had around 175 people in attendance, many of them hearing about Haven Acres for the first time!
Many, many volunteers helped, getting everything set up way ahead of time and helping with things from serving to cleaning up. Special thanks to Stacy Moening for doing all of the graphics for the event and Brianna Overstreet for putting together the amazing videos!
Jack and his team at Celebration Church made us incredible cowboy fare to enjoy!
Jenifer and Jason gave a history of Haven Acres, beginning when they were in Burnsville with almost nothing and no horse experience to now when we see 50 kids a week and have 17 horses in Hampton.
The Aboki family shared an emotional story about how Haven Acres has enabled their daughter to blossom after years of struggling with speech and communication.
Videos of volunteers, caregivers, and participants illustrated how God is impacting lives at Haven Acres.
Madison was a phenomenal MC, leading us through an emotional activity called “Stand Up for Your Youth” where we saw just how many of our participants struggle with anxiety, depression, and other pain in their lives.
Nearly $34,000 was raised to fund the ongoing work of mentoring hurting and at-risk youth free-of-charge! We were excited to gain seven new monthly supporters as well!
We couldn’t have been more blessed by all the support we received in all its forms! Thank you all for all you did to make this such an incredible evening!

We are so grateful to the Minnesota Horse Council for providing the funding for us to build a new horse shelter for one of our horse paddocks. Though we have 9 stalls in the barn, three of them are makeshift stalls which were originally used for hay storage. As a result of the lost space for hay, we are currently storing hay in the indoor arena. The additional horse shelter frees up space in the barn which enlarges the riding arena space, allowing more sessions to be held in the off season as well as providing more freedom to begin conditioning horses for the upcoming season.
In addition, this horse shelter will save time and money. For example, it reduces the need to purchase stall bedding and frees up time for the staff and volunteers. Time that would be spent cleaning stalls, filling hay bags, and bringing horses in and out of the barn will be spent on more worthwhile things that help the kids and animals we serve.
Lastly, most of the horses prefer to remain outside with the herd. Having another shelter gives the horses the option of remaining with the herd and yet gets them out of the elements. It ultimately creates the best possible environment for the horses, adding to their joy and fulfillment at Haven Acres.
We are grateful to the Minnesota Horse Council for supporting Haven Acres!
